Creating a custom illustration for one of my favorite modern Filipino restaurants was an absolute DREAM project! Camille, Sari-sari's owner, reached out to me for an illustration inspired by the classic Filipino nursery rhyme 'Bahay Kubo', a song about everything that grows in a Filipino garden.
It was so much fun working with Camille to decide which essential Filipino ingredients would be depicted. I'm SO proud to create work that both evokes nostalgia in other Filipinos, and shares my culture with others.
